AfroCode Academy Terms and Conditions


Welcome to AfroCode. By enrolling in our programs, accessing our website, attending classes, workshops, camps, or using any AfroCode services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering a student, making payment, attending classes, or using any AfroCode platform or service, the parent, guardian, student, or participant agrees to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.

AfroCode reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice.

2. Enrollment & Registration

  • Enrollment is only confirmed once full payment or the required deposit has been received.
  • AfroCode reserves the right to refuse admission or enrollment at its sole discretion.
  • Class spaces are limited and allocated on a first-paid basis.
  • Waiting lists may apply for fully booked programs.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that all registration information is accurate and up to date.

3. Fees, Payments & Refunds

      3.1 Payment Obligations

  • All fees must be paid on or before the due date.
  • Monthly memberships are billed in advance.
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access to classes, systems, portals, certificates, and learning materials.
  •   3.2 Non-Refundable Fees

    Unless required by law:

  • Registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • Missed classes are non-refundable.
  • Holiday camps, workshops, and special events are non-refundable once booked.
  •   3.3 No Guaranteed Outcomes

    AfroCode does not guarantee:

  • Academic performance,
  • Employment.
  • Scholarships.
  • Certifications.
  • Competition success.
  • Or specific learning outcomes.
  • 4. Class Attendance & Conduct

    Students are expected to:

  • Behave respectfully,
  • Follow instructor guidance.
  • Respect equipment and facilities.
  • Avoid disruptive or unsafe behavior.

  • AfroCode reserves the right to:

  • suspend
  • remove
  • or permanently expel any student without refund for misconduct, bullying, harassment, unsafe behavior, vandalism, or repeated disruption.
  • 5. Parent & Guardian Responsibilities

    Parents/guardians agree to:

  • Ensure timely drop-off and collection of students
  • Supervise students outside official class hours
  • Provide students with all relevant hardware required
  • Inform AfroCode of any relevant medical, behavioral, or learning considerations

  • AfroCode is not responsible for students outside designated program times.

    6. Limitation of Liability

    To the fullest extent permitted under South African law:
    AfroCode, its directors, employees, instructors, contractors, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for:

  • Any injury
  • loss
  • accident
  • theft
  • data loss
  • emotional distress
  • indirect damages
  • consequential damages
  • or any damages arising from participation in AfroCode activities or use of AfroCode systems
  • Participation in coding, robotics, STEM, and technology activities is entirely at the participant’s own risk.


    Parents/guardians expressly acknowledge that certain activities involving robotics equipment, electronics, tools, internet access, or group participation may carry inherent risks.

    7. Indemnity

    Parents, guardians, students, and participants agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless AfroCode from any claims, liabilities, losses, legal disputes, damages, costs, or expenses arising from:

  • participation in programs
  • breach of these terms
  • misuse of equipment
  • student misconduct
  • third-party claims
  • or unauthorized use of AfroCode platforms or materials
  • 8. Medical Emergencies

    In the event of a medical emergency:

  • AfroCode may contact emergency services and/or the parent or guardian.
  • AfroCode is not responsible for medical costs incurred.
  • Parents/guardians authorize AfroCode to take reasonable emergency action where necessary.
  • 9. Intellectual Property

    All AfroCode content, including:

  • Curriculum
  • lesson materials
  • videos
  • branding
  • logos
  • projects
  • software
  • graphics
  • and learning systems
  • Remain the exclusive intellectual property of AfroCode unless otherwise stated.
    No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, sold, or shared without prior written permission.

    10. Photography, Video & Media Consent

    AfroCode may capture photographs, videos, recordings, or student project showcases during programs for:

  • educational purposes
  • promotional materials
  • marketing
  • social media
  • and website content
  • By enrolling, parents/guardians grant AfroCode permission to use such content unless written notice is provided in advance.

    11. Technology & Internet Usage

    Students must use all AfroCode systems, devices, networks, and online platforms responsibly.
    AfroCode is not liable for:

  • internet outages
  • third-party platform failures
  • cyber incidents
  • service interruptions
  • or loss of digital content
  • 12. Cancellations & Schedule Changes

    AfroCode reserves the right to:

  • change schedules
  • substitute instructors
  • modify programs
  • merge classes
  • cancel sessions
  • Where possible, reasonable notice will be provided.

    13. Force Majeure

    AfroCode shall not be held liable for delays, interruptions, or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • natural disasters
  • internet failures
  • pandemics
  • civil unrest
  • strikes
  • government restrictions
  • or acts of God
  • 14. POPIA & Privacy

    AfroCode is committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.
    Personal information collected may be used for:

  • enrollment
  • communication
  • billing
  • educational administration
  • and operational purposes

  • AfroCode will take reasonable steps to protect personal data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

    15. Governing Law

    These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
    Any disputes arising shall fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

    16. Agreement

    By registering, making payment, accessing AfroCode services, or participating in AfroCode programs, the parent, guardian, student, or participant confirms that they:

  • have read,
  • understood,
  • and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
